The Start 1946
Les Pinder first started boat building in 1946,
following the purchase of an ex-wartime torpedo
boat then subsequently converting it into a
cruising yacht.
Company Established 1953
Nine years later Les' Son John joined the company
and set up the company J.L. Pinder and Son.
In these early days the company repaired and
conserved working boats.
Late 1960's
John develops a an all welded cruising style
narrow built. The company moves into the
private canal boat market, a key part of the
buisness still.
1972
Company secures a contract to build 60ft
narrow boat hulls for the Royal Navy to
depict submarines, destroyers and frigates.
1987
Company moves from Hopwood to the present site in Stoke Prior.
Present Day
The original narrow boat design is still built
along with nine new designs. The company
also builds ocean going vessels, sailing vessels
and bespoke vessels such as 90ft barges.
